Taking care of my hair is really important to me. I don’t know why I care about the way my hair looks so much, but I just do. When my hair looks shiny and feels soft, it makes me feel more confident. I have the biggest hair struggles in the summer, because I spend most of my time outside at the beach or by the pool. The sun, salt water, and chlorine makes my bleached hair super dry and frizzy. And when it’s humid? Forget about it. My hair is naturally wavy and looks insane in super hot weather.
I know I’m not the only one who deals with hair problems like these in the summer. I went on a hunt to find the best products to fix all of that and found SO many good ones. I had to share them with you guys, so… here are 22 new hair products every girl must try this summer:
1. The Invisibobble
This is probably my favorite hair accessory ever. The Invisibobble is a hair tie that sort of looks like an old-school phone cord. It looks like it would feel terrible, but it doesn’t. It holds hair like nothing else, and it doesn’t catch or pull your hair out of your head. It stretches and allows you to do crazy hairstyles with no bobby pins, but it always morphs back into place. I’ve been using the same Invisibobble for almost two months and it’s still like brand new. It’s amazing. Everyone needs one.
Invisibobble, $8.99, Amazon
2. Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure HairTherapy Sun Protect Shimmer Oil
If you spend a lot of time outside, you need this spray. I use it at the beach to protect my hair (which people often forget to protect in the sun). It works great and leaves behind a pretty shimmer.
Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure HairTherapy Sun Protect Shimmer Oil, $13.99, SleekHair.com
3. Bumble and bumble Surf Infusion Spray
I’m really into sea salt sprays because I love having beach hair. I’ve been searching for the best one for a while now, and I’ve finally found it. This Surf Infusion spray is made with coconut oil, so unlike other sprays, it doesn’t make your hair feel dry and disgusting. It creates the most perfect beach waves and smells awesome.
Bumble and bumble Surf Infusion Spray, $29, Sephora
4. Frederic Fekkai Soleil Apres Soleil Creme
This stuff is great for beach or pool days. It’s a cream that you can put in your hair to give it moisture. Hair gets dry after being in the sun all day, so this is great. I use it on dry hair or wet hair after the shower.
Frederic Fekkai Soleil Apres Soleil Creme, $20, Fekkai
5. Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Elastin Curls and Moisture Soft Tousle Spray
If your hair is naturally curly or wavy, this spray is really great. It makes your curls soft instead of brittle. I love using this when I don’t want to dry my hair, because it helps it dry naturally in a really pretty way.
Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Elastin Curls and Moisture Soft Tousle Spray, $6.97, Walmart
6. Living Proof Style Lab Instant Texture Mist
Sometimes you just need a little texture in your hair. This spray is great. I use it on second day hair when I want it to look natural but I don’t want to use hot tools. It makes it tousled and it smells great.
Living Proof Style Lab Instant Texture Mist, $26, Sephora
7. Smooth Sexy Hair Smooth Encounter
Maybe you prefer for your hair to be straight and smooth rather than wavy. If that’s the case, use this product. It works before you blow dry it to create super smooth, soft hair that looks as good as it feels.
Smooth Sexy Hair Smooth Encounter, $10.99, Ulta
8. Drybar Mai Tai Spritzer Sea Salt Spray
This is another really great option for beach waves. I always like to have two, in case I run out of one. While the Bumble and bumble is great for texture, this Drybar spray is better for volume. It also smells really clean, which I love.
Drybar Mai Tai Spritzer Sea Salt Spray, $25, Sephora
9. Oscar Blandi Braid Paste
Braids are such a great and easy style in the summer. Want to make yours look like a professional did it? Get this braid paste. It makes your hair feel tacky, so it’s easier to work with. It also makes your braids look AMAZING and keeps everything in place so you don’t have to worry about it falling out.
Oscar Blandi Braid Paste, $25, Ulta
10. Bumble and bumble Bb Don’t Blow It Hair Styler
If you’re going to blow out your hair, you need a protectant spray, especially in the summer when hair is already dry. This creme doesn’t just protect your hair, it also makes it feel great and gives it a really nice natural texture.
Bumble and bumble Bb Don’t Blow It Hair Styler, $30, Sephora
11. Macadamia Professional Anti-Humidity Finishing Spray
I love this stuff and never leave my house without spraying it on. It’s an anti-humidity finishing spray that keeps hair from getting wild in the heat. My favorite thing about this one is that it’s nourishing. It doesn’t feel sticky like hair spray or make my hair feel weird.
Macadamia Professional Anti-Humidity Finishing Spray, $25, Ulta
12. Sun Bum Conditioner
Conditioner is so important in the summertime (like I’ve said a million times, your hair gets more dry). This one is ideal because it protects your hair from UV Rays, so it’s perfect to use after beach or pool days. And don’t get me started on how great it smells – like bananas and sunshine!
Sun Bum Conditioner, $17.99, Ulta
13. Phuse 11 things I Love About You Leave-In Conditioner
Even if you use conditioner in the shower, use a leave-in spray every day. This one not only helps revive damaged hair, it also minimizes color loss and adds shine. I use this when I get out of the shower and after going in the ocean or pool.
Phuse 11 things I Love About You Leave-In Conditioner, Phuse
14. Oscar Blandi Dry Conditioner Spray
You’ve heard about dry shampoo, but what about dry conditioner? Dry conditioner is ideal for second day hair, when it needs a small boost and some extra shine. I’m obsessed with this one. It makes my hair look better without weighing it down.
Oscar Blandi Dry Conditioner Spray, $25, Ulta
15. Rusk Anti-Frizz Spray
This is another anti-humidity spray, but it’s a little different. This gets sprayed on wet hair, before you dry it. It works really great as a preventative measure. I’ve been using it constantly!
Rusk Anti-Frizz Spray, $18, Ulta
Again, girls with curly hair: this is for you. It makes your curls super soft because it’s really nourishing. I love the vintage design just as much as I love how it works!
Dippity Do Girls With Curls Curl Defining Cream, $6.99, Dippity-Do
17. Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist
When hair begins to look dull, give it a boost with this shine spray. It makes hair look good as new, without weighing it down or making it feel weird.
Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist, $28, Sephora
18. Infusium23 Moisture Replenisher Leave-In Treatment
At least once a week, you should use a leave-in treatment for your hair. It moisturizes it and protects it from further damage, as well as fixes current damage. It’s made with hydrating ingredients like avocado and olive oil.
Infusium23 Moisture Replenisher Leave-In Treatment, $12. Amazon
19. Rusk Dry Finishing Spray
This is another texturizing spray that I really love. It’s not super weightless, but it really does add a lot of texture to your hair, which is great if it’s feeling limp. Plus, I love that the bottle is huge.
Rusk Dry Finishing Spray, $18, Ulta
20. TriSwim Shampoo & Conditioner
If you spend a lot of time in pools, you need this stuff (there’s also a conditioner). It’s made to protect your hair against chlorine and to get rid of chlorine damage. It’s a definite summer necessity. Chlorine is so bad for your hair!
TriSwim Shampoo & Conditioner, $9.95, Swim Outlet
21. Living Proof Humidity Shield
Yes, it’s another anti-humidity spray. You can’t have enough! I love Living Proof and this works so well. I love the smell, the weightlessness and the way it makes my hair look.
Living Proof Humidity Shield, $22, Sephora
If you know me, you know I could never make it through a hair product roundup post without encouraging you to buy dry shampoo. Dry shampoo helps extend blowouts so you don’t need to use as many hot tools, so it protects your hair. This one is my new favorite because it makes my hair look good as new, even after days without washing it.
Ka Pow Dry Shampoo, $16, Cibu
